About the job

We are seeking a talented individual to work as Assistant Director of the Schools Singing Programme.

This role provides an excellent opportunity for a choral leader with a desire to nurture creativity, foster expression, and shape the voices and musical foundations of future generations. We’re looking for a skilled leader of children’s voices who will play a key role in developing our singing and keyboard programmes, leading provision in the Cathedral Choir School and supporting an outstanding team of Choral Directors and Keyboard Tutors.

We work with 7,500 children each week in schools across West and North Yorkshire and our 18 after-school choirs provide outstanding choral opportunities for young people, including BBC broadcasts, tours and recordings. Our innovative whole-class melodica sessions provide an entry point to instrumental study, and organ, piano and classical accordion tuition is available for choristers and school pupils across the Diocese.
