About the job

We are currently seeking to appoint an exceptional musician to join Stonyhurst as a Choral Director, delivering a School’s Singing Programme to twelve local Primary schools. We offer this programme through funding from the National Schools’ Singing Programme and the Hamish Ogston Foundation. The aim of the NSSP is to combat declining availability of specialist music lessons for children and to provide pathways for musically talented young people to go on to attend some of the country's leading universities and conservatoires.

Key Responsibilities

  1. Develop singing in primary schools in our area
  2. Contribute to the building of relationships with existing and new schools through delivery of high-quality weekly curriculum-time singing sessions
  3. Provide CPD to teachers at partner primary schools, supporting the integration of music into school life
  4. Establish, recruit and direct after-school choirs
  5. Contribute to the musical life of the region
