We have an exciting opportunity for a newly created role of Director of Performance Music.
With oversight of Music Performance throughout the school, the post would suit an exceptional, creative and innovative musician, with very strong organisational skills and the ability to manage a large, talented and highly motivated team. You will establish a highly ambitious vision for music making at Haberdashers, ensuring that an appropriate range of ensembles exists, providing opportunities for as many pupils as possible, feeding into a truly outstanding programme of performance opportunities throughout the school year.
The role will manage and oversee the delivery of high-quality instrumental tuition throughout the school and will have line management responsibilities for all Visiting Music Teachers, the Head of Jazz and the Musician in Residence. You will work closely with the Head of Prep Music and Head of Academic Music and will be expected to deliver some instrumental teaching and lead a number of ensembles.
You will be able to inspire pupils and staff alike with a love of music and combine strong leadership skills with an outstanding performance background. A degree or equivalent music qualification is essential, and whilst QTS is not essential for this role, experience of working with children is desirable.
