We are looking for an experienced and dynamic drum kit and orchestral percussion teacher to join our thriving Music Department in the Spring Term 2024. The candidate will be responsible for delivering high-quality, engaging lessons to encourage pupils between the ages of 5 and 11 to achieve the best they can in their studies.
They will have experience of preparing and entering pupils for graded music exams and for music scholarships, as directed by the Head of Music. It is expected that lessons will include aural and theoretical elements alongside the practical skills of the instrument. The candidate will be expected to provide pupils for performances at a number of formal and informal concerts throughout the year as requested by the Head of Music.
Excellent communication and organisational skills are essential as the candidate will be expected to liaise frequently with parents as well as to the Head of Music and other members of the Russell House staff. Lessons are offered on a rotational basis which ensures that pupils do not miss the same lesson each week. Lessons are also timetabled around the core subjects for the older pupils.
Initially, there is expected to be two and a half hours of teaching which will increase in line with demand.
