 Working at Downe House

As a traditional girls’ boarding school with a modern twist, we offer an enriching, caring and creative environment, where every girl is challenged and supported in equal measure. We are proud of our thriving Music Department where music is a valued academic and creative subject that is fully inclusive and equips girls with lifelong musical skills.

This post offers an excellent opportunity for a talented Music Graduate with an interest in gaining varied experience in an education setting. Your role will include teaching individual and/or small group theory lessons, assisting with rehearsals, aural workshops, advising and supporting girls and involvement with an exciting range of trips and music events. You will also be a residential member of staff in a boarding house and will be involved in pastoral support and carrying out some evening and breakfast duties.

In return we offer an excellent working environment, on/off site accommodation (inclusive of all bills), meals on duty, professional development opportunities and a salary of circa £16,000 per annum. This post is initially offered on a two year fixed term contract from April / May 2022 or September 2022 – July 2024.
