Millfield is looking to recruit inspirational, enthusiastic and versatile graduates to join the vibrant, diverse and exciting music programme at Millfield School. We wish to appoint engaging and motivational graduates who will be able to assist with both the curricular and co-curricular provision in our busy and highly successful Music Department. The successful candidates will be exceptionally passionate, flexible in their approach and work across a variety of musical styles and activities and will have the ability to inspire and develop the talents of our students, whatever their level. This position comes with board and lodgings within a shared house.

The Music School at Millfield continues to build on its excellent national and international reputation in the quality of its music making, celebrating a diverse musical identity that aims to discover brilliance in each student. Housed in a stunning purpose-built department, with outstanding facilities and teaching staff, up to 60 events each year and a thriving ensemble programme, Millfield is able to provide exceptional specialist provision for our musicians, both in practical music making and in the classroom. Recent Music results have been exceptional, with 75% of students at A level achieving A*, 92% at AS achieving the top grade of A, and 100% of students attaining A*-B across all exams at IGCSE and A level.

Founded in 1935, Millfield’s vision is to be the world leader for the development of children. There are nearly 1,300 students at the senior school (year 9 to U6), with a 3:1 ratio of boarding to day. Although essentially a rural British school, 20 per cent of Millfield students are international and come from more than 70 countries. 

Set in over 100 acres of grounds, Millfield’s size brings great opportunity and the facilities are unmatched in the UK: a 350-seat concert hall, recording studios, theatre, art gallery, hi-tech Science block and outstanding teaching facilities; an Olympic-sized swimming pool, golf courses, indoor centres for tennis, golf and cricket , an equestrian centre; and high quality boarding accommodation.

Our aim is discover brilliance in every child and to immerse them in academic, creative and sporting opportunities to develop this brilliance. We offer an exceptionally wide range of courses and provide multiple pathways through the school to meet the needs of the individual child. Courses range from the traditional academic route to vocational courses and BTEC. The curriculum is meticulously crafted to lead students through from the end of year 8 to the start of university life or the first steps of a career.
