Bradfield College is seeking an exceptional musician to join our thriving Music Department as Head of Instrumental Studies.
Working closely with the Director of Music, you will shape and deliver an inspiring solo performance programme for instrumentalists of all abilities. You will also play a key part in the development of instrumental performance at the College, contributing to short, medium and long-term planning. There may also be opportunities to teach individual pupils on a one-to-one basis.
We are looking for an experienced instrumental teacher and performer who is an enthusiastic advocate for music education, able to communicate your love of music across the College community. You will also need administrative and teamwork skills to work collaboratively on event planning and the tracking of pupil progress.
This is a part-time position offering some flexibility. Working hours are approximately 12 hours a week, ideally split over a minimum of 3 days.
The Department
The Music Department is a busy department that places performing at its heart. We offer a rich co-curricular programme of instrumental and vocal ensembles, spanning a variety of genres. The department currently runs a performance programme which includes weekly lunchtime concerts in the recently refurbished Music Hall. Solo instrumental and vocal competitions take place throughout the year, and there are at least eight more high-profile concerts in the calendar.
