About the job

A thriving independent school with an excellent local reputation and a unique atmosphere requires for January or April 2022 a Head of Music.

The school is well resourced and has an excellent musical reputation. We require an inspirational Head of Music to lead and develop this flourishing department, and to:

• enthuse and inspire all our pupils to participate in a variety of musical activities
• lead choirs, music groups and arrange musical events
• organise and lead a dedicated department of visiting music staff
• prepare pupils for music scholarships and grade exams
• teach piano, accompany pupils, and support assemblies.

An ability to teach music technology and drama would also be an advantage, along with an ability to teach other curriculum subjects.

An enthusiastic contribution to the wider life of this busy school will be expected.
