NMPAT is a music education charity, which provides musical and artistic opportunities for the children and young people of Northamptonshire, with a £5m turnover. As lead partner of both the Northamptonshire and Rutland Music Education Hubs, the charity works with almost every school in the two counties. We engage with over 20,000 young people per year, run more than 30 County Groups – bands, orchestras and choirs – 11 Saturday Centres, and further enrichment, and performance opportunities throughout the year. We employ over 250 staff, including 13 who are permanently based at the Kettering Road Music and Arts Centre.
This important new role in our Middle Management Team will join the Heads of Woodwind, Brass, Guitar, Percussion, Keyboard and Vocal Studies to lead the instrumental teaching teams of the Trust. Working with the Directors responsible for School Based teaching, County Ensembles and Saturday Centres, they will deploy their staff to deliver the core roles of the National Plan for Music Education.
You will be an experienced instrumental teacher, with the ability to inspire, lead and manage a team of people, and lead initiatives and projects to enhance and develop your department.
The appointment is within the spirit of Teachers’ Pay and Conditions and is paid on the NMPAT Pay Spine depending on qualifications and experience: Up to £35,336, or up to £39,571 for qualified teachers (plus 2022 pay award tbc).
