Music Education Islington (MEI) is the Music Education Hub for the London Borough of Islington. MEI is led by Islington Council and Guildhall School of Music & Drama, in partnership with Music in Secondary Schools Trust and leading arts organisations and funders, as well as the Islington Community of Schools.
In this new role, you will develop and deliver MEI’s out of school activities for young people in popular/improvised music and jazz, set up a team adaptable to the needs and interests of our young people, explore progression routes and learning frameworks that help the different needs and interests of all our musicians.
Detailed knowledge of popular, jazz, and improvised music genres, the ability to work in a team, understanding different ways to motivate young people and different ways of learning music are essential. You will have extensive experience of working with individuals and groups, incorporating various skill levels, as well as plan, costs and manage projects.
Enhanced DBS checks will be required.
