We wish to appoint an experienced, enthusiastic part-time guitar/bass teacher, primarily to coach and develop our new Rock School (band tuition), and also to teach some electric/bass guitar on a one to one basis (depending on the successful candidate’s specialism). Our highly skilled instrumental team are integral to the success of the Music Department, and we are looking for a candidate to join this team who is an accomplished player with sound technique, to coach and expand the Rock School, which has been absent from school for several years. The successful candidate will also be required to take on some guitar/bass teaching as part of the role, and ideally be able to teach up to grade 8 on their specialism and be familiar with the different exam boards.
The Music department is vibrant, dynamic and highly successful, offering instrumental lessons to around 250 of our pupils aged 11 to 18. Students achieved 100% 4-9 at GCSE and 100% A to B grades at A-level (based on our 2019 Music results. We have a thriving extracurricular programme of concerts and events throughout the year
As the Rock School is a new post, the hours will hopefully expand over time. Initially we anticipate in the region of 3 hours work per week; however this could increase to a full day’s work.
All applicants must ensure they complete a copy of the school's application form which forms part of their safer recruitment process. CVs can be attached to the application form but not submitted on its own. Applications can be submitted via recruitment@broxbourne.herts.sch.uk.
Closing date: 7th June (12 noon)
