Harrodian is seeking to appoint a well-qualified, enthusiastic and engaging Peripatetic Brass Teacher to join our successful and vibrant Music department from January 2022. The successful candidate will be able to teach Trumpet and Trombone. They will deliver lessons to a small number of existing Brass pupils and build capacity across the whole school, teaching in a range of styles including Classical and Jazz. The ability to play the piano to a good standard to accompany pupils and play for concerts and recitals is desirable, though not essential.
This position is initially for approximately one half day of teaching per week in the first instance, but there may be scope to take on more pupils as enthusiasm for Brass increases. The role is term time only and other duties will include preparing pupils for examinations and other school events such as concerts, assemblies and recitals. The teaching hours/days can be negotiated according to the successful candidate’s availability.

This post reports to the Director of Music.
Accommodation and Equipment
There are 7 music practice rooms at Harrodian. All rooms are equipped with a piano.
Salary
Peripatetic staff at Harrodian are self-employed at a rate of £46.00 per hour and the contract for lessons is between the pupil and the teacher. Instrumental and vocal lessons are given on a weekly basis.
Harrodian
Founded in 1993, the school is co-educational and set in SW London in 25 acres of grounds with excellent facilities. It is a calm and beautiful place to work. Individual music lessons are given in all the usual instruments and singing. Over 40% of the school’s pupils have music lessons in school. Over 350 lessons are given per week across the Pre-Prep, Prep and Senior schools.
