From September 2022 we are seeking to engage the services of a dynamic and experienced musician, as a self-employed, peripatetic visiting music teacher, to teach the French Horn for approximately one day per week throughout the junior and senior schools. The successful person will teach approximately seven individual lessons as well as a beginner group each week. There is the potential to expand this teaching further in the future.
You will hold a good degree in Music from a well-respected university or conservatoire. You will have proven ability as a performer, ideally as both a chamber musician and orchestral player, together with the ability as an inspiring teacher to pupils, both beginners and up to and including grade 8 level. You will possess excellent IT, communication, organisation and listening skills, and will be able to establish a good rapport with parents, pupils and other stakeholders. Prior experience of teaching music in a school environment would be advantageous.
