About the job

Main Duties and Responsibilities:

  1. To teach 30-minute or 60-minute lessons to students as requested by the Director of Music
  2. To teach peripatetic Singing (and Piano lessons as the need arises)
  3. To prepare students to perform in concerts and other public events
  4. To prepare students for public exams as appropriate
  5. To take registers to record both attendance and non-attendance of pupils.
  6. To write termly reports on the progress of the students.
  7. To attend professional development training as directed by the HR department
  8. To create a learning programme which meets the needs of the student, which is fun, enjoyable and develops the student’s musical abilities.


Further additional duties will be appropriate to the skillset of the postholder and agreed with the Director of Music. 

This position has been created in response to the growing interest in one-to-one Singing and Piano taster lessons. The successful candidate may start as a ‘bank’ teacher but the department can accommodate any suggestions to develop the role from a candidate with a ‘can-do’ attitude.

The closing date is Friday 11th October 2019 but LVS Ascot reserves the right to call suitable candidates for interview and appoint if appropriate before the closing date.
