About the job

Solihull School is looking for two suitably qualified and experienced teachers – one of Saxophone and one of Violin – to join our thriving Music Department as self-employed Visiting Music Teachers from September 2019.

The successful candidates will have the opportunity to teach pupils from age 7-18 and will have a proven track record of motivating and engaging pupils from beginner to grade 8 level.

Our current needs are for one to two days of teaching per week on each instrument, though this could potentially increase. There may well be an opportunity for some small ensemble coaching work.

Further details and information on how to apply are available from our website www.solsch.org.uk. The closing date for the return of applications is 4 p.m. Tuesday 11 June 2019. Interviews will take place during week commencing 17 June 2019.

As part of the interview process, shortlisted candidates will be asked to give a short demonstration lesson and perform a solo piece on their instrument.

Interested candidates are welcome to contact the Director of Music (Mr Tim Kermode) in advance of making an application with any queries about the post. Tel: 0121 705 0958; email: kermodet@solsch.org.uk .

The School is committed to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children and applicants must be willing to undergo child protection screening appropriate to the post.

Solihull School is a limited company registered in England and Wales No. 6337650. Registered Charity No. 1120597
