About the job

We are recruiting for a new Teacher Development Manager to work closely with our Learning and Qualifications Director and other colleagues in leading the development and ongoing review of a comprehensive programme of teacher development offered by ABRSM in partnership with the Royal Schools of Music.

For this reason, we are looking for someone who has the expertise in music and teacher education, to aid ABRSM in advancing its support for a variety of learning pathways more broadly, including new resources for teachers that align with and complement ABRSM’s teacher development programme and associated qualifications.

You will have a proven track record in music education, broad and deep experience of working with teachers, and be educated to at least postgraduate level in Music, Education or another relevant subject, (or with equivalent experience). Experience of the teaching of music at a range of levels is essential and it is likely that you will have some knowledge of the regulation/accreditation of qualifications. You must be accustomed to handling several projects concurrently and we would also expect you to be able to evidence your ability to evaluate and interpret research and data to make evidence-based judgements and decisions.

If you feel that you meet the requirements of this role and are as passionate as we are about continuously improving our musical offer to our customers, we would welcome your application. We would consider a part time working arrangement for a candidate with the right skills and experience for this role.

ABRSM is the UK’s largest music education body, one of its largest music publishers and the world’s leading provider of music exams, offering assessments to more than 630,000 candidates in 93 countries every year. We support the teaching and learning of music, in partnership with the Royal Schools of Music. Our mission is to inspire achievement in music.

ABRSM is a friendly company that offers its employees a range of benefits. We are based in contemporary offices with good facilities for staff close to the Barbican in the City of London, which has excellent transport links.
