Trumpet Teacher
One day a week (with the potential for further teaching and responsibility)
We require a dedicated, experienced, and inspirational trumpet teacher to join a distinguished team of brass teachers, to teach approximately 10 pupils from September 2024 (or sooner if possible). There is also the opportunity for additional ensemble coaching and we anticipate that these numbers could grow significantly in the coming years.
Pupils will range from relative beginners to post Grade 8 and will have an interest in classical, jazz and/or popular music so experience across these genres would be welcome. We aim to motivate and encourage all students to continue and progress throughout their time at Radley in the idiom(s) of their choice, giving all equal attention and opportunities.
The music department offers a range of concerts to all levels of ability, from informal concerts to high profile concerto opportunities and a broad range of small and large ensembles including a several Brass Ensembles, a Big Band, Concert Band and Symphony Orchestra. With a major music department building project on the horizon and unprecedented numbers of boys having instrumental lessons, it is an exciting time to join the Radley College music team.
As well as knowledge of teaching strategies, teaching repertoire and adaptability to the individual, the successful applicant will show an active interest and insight into current instrumental teaching, research and development, and in pursuing their own professional development as an instrumental teacher.
Further information and details on how to apply can be found on the school’s website: www.radley.org.uk/about-radley/employment/teaching-vacancies
Closing date for applications is 12 noon, Friday 8th March, 2024 and interviews will take place on Wednesday 13th or Thursday 14th March 2024. Applicants will be given a guided tour of the Music school, have an interview with the Precentor (Director of Music) and Head of Performance, and be required to teach a lesson.
Radley College is committed to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children and applicants must be willing to undergo child protection screening appropriate to the post, including checks with past employers and the Disclosure and Barring Service.
