About the job

An enthusiastic and inspiring Visiting Music Teacher of Clarinet and Saxophone is required from September 2024. This is an outstanding opportunity to work with talented and enthusiastic pupils and teach in a most vibrant and successful department, teaching boys from school years three to thirteen.

The Department

The Music Department is housed across two characterful buildings, which include three academic classrooms, a recital room, individual instrumental teaching rooms and instrument stores. In 2013 the Music School expanded to include a music studio and five acoustically designed instrumental teaching rooms. There are other excellent performance spaces, including the Warwick School Hall, the Bridge House Theatre, the Halse Pavilion, the Pyne Room, and School Chapel. We also have access to the magnificent ‘Susi Jeans Organ’ (formerly of the Royal Birmingham Conservatoire) housed in King’s High School.

Music is a priority at Warwick School. Each week over 600 boys take instrumental lessons with 50 ensembles ranging from big bands to bell ringers, and choirs to orchestras. Recent overseas tours have included concerts in Barcelona, Venice and St Peter’s Basilica, Belgium, Uganda, and Rome.

Working Times and Days

4 hours per week, weekdays. Working 30 weeks per year.

This is a great opportunity for a highly qualified and experienced individual, as the school seeks to build on the success of winning Independent Boys School of the Year for 2022 and deliver on our vision of being the most inspiring, rounded, and caring boys’ school in the UK.

The key areas of responsibility and duties which attach to the position are set out below although the list is not exhaustive, and the VMT Clarinet & Saxophone may be expected to assume additional responsibilities as reasonably requested by the Head/Director of Music.

Further information can be found in the Applicant Information Pack.  The closing date for applications is Monday 10th June 2024 at 12pm, with interviews due to be held on 17th June 2024.
