About the job

We are seeking an experienced and enthusiastic Visiting Teacher for Drum Kit, to provide individual tuition to boys across the whole age range of the school. We anticipate the role will have up to a full day of teaching.

The school has a thriving music department, with over 330 pupils taking weekly instrumental/singing lessons with over 30 visiting teachers in the team. The successful candidates will work across the whole age range of the school (Years 3-13).

Closing Date: 18 November 2024

Interview Date: 25 November 2024

This is a paid as advised position. The School is under no obligation to provide the successful applicant with work, or to provide a minimum number of hours work each term.

Suitable candidates may be interviewed before the closing date and Bedford School reserves the right to withdraw the position if an early appointment is made. Applicants are therefore encouraged to apply early.

The School is committed to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children and young people and expects all staff and volunteers to share this commitment. Applicants will be required to undergo child protection screening appropriate to the post, including checks with past employers and the Disclosure and Barring Service (DBS).  The School may carry out online searches on shortlisted applicants. The post is exempt from the Rehabilitation of Offenders Act 1974.  The School is therefore permitted to ask job applicants to declare all convictions and cautions on a self-declaration form in advance of attending an interview (including those which are “spent” unless they are “protected” under the DBS filtering rules) in order to assess their suitability to work with children.

Bedford School is part of The Harpur Trust.
