About the job

We are seeking a Visiting Music Teacher for Flute to work in one of the country's largest, independent, co-educational music departments, to provide inspiring flute lessons to pupils.


The role

An inspirational and encouraging teacher, you will enable the pupils to perform musically and to achieve their full potential in music examinations, competitions and concert performances as appropriate. This will be primarily achieved through one-to-one lessons and coaching ensembles.


The details

Visiting Music Teachers work Term time only, which is 33 weeks per year. Hours of work will vary according to pupil needs, but is estimated to be eight hours per week. You will be paid £32.86 per hour, plus entitlement to 5.6 weeks holiday (pro rata-d for part time employees).


Your background

You will have a Performance Diploma or Music Degree and professional playing experience. Your previous teaching experience will include both 1:1 and small group sessions, and you will have the ability to teach to Diploma level if required. A team player with good communication skills, you will have an enthusiastic approach in all of your dealings with pupils, colleagues and parents.
