College Piano VMT

Hours: Currently 5 students available per week. It is already anticipated that there will be more hours of teaching available once new applications for lessons are received ahead of September.

We are looking to appoint an energetic and passionate Piano Teacher who can inspire a love for music in our students and foster their motivation to excel and perform. The ability to teach classical piano alongside jazz lessons would be highly desirable but not necessary.

The ideal candidate will have extensive experience as both a performer and educator across all levels, with the ability and willingness to teach students from beginners to Grade 8 and beyond at the College. While this role is primarily focused on piano teaching, there will be exciting opportunities to contribute more widely to the department through accompanying (exam or concert) if required.

The successful applicant will be adaptable, proactive, and possess excellent communication skills. They will deliver high-quality lessons that enable students to achieve exceptional standards in music examinations and concert performances, while also enjoying and feeling inspired by their musical journey. Teaching will primarily take place through one-to-one lessons but may also involve guidance with duets/trios, concert preparation, and performance coaching as needed.

Our Visiting Music Teachers (VMTs) are responsible for managing their own teaching schedules, with support available from the Graduate Music Assistant when required.

Applicants should have flexibility with their teaching hours in operation from 08:05 – 17:50 and availability to increase their lesson count. The successful candidates will be encouraged and supported in recruiting new pupils and should be available to increase teaching hours.

Visiting teachers teach around 30 individual lessons to a pupil over the course of the academic year.  Each lesson lasts for 35 minutes and timetables are organised by the visiting teachers to fit with the rota system. VMTs are using SOCS Music to timetable their students.

Further enquiries may be made by email to the Director of Music, Lorraine Wild at lwild@stgeorgesweybridge.com

We are seeking an inspirational and enthusiastic self-employed singing teacher who can teach across our 7 – 11 age range to join the thriving Music Department from September 2025.

There is currently around 2.5 hours of teaching and applicants should have flexibility with their teaching hours in operation from 8:15am – 5:00pm and availability to increase their lesson count.
